What is wrong with GOP?

Why has the Grand Ol’ Party lost its ways? Take Ron Paul for instance. He was demanded off the stage by some of the frontrunners of the Republican Party because they thought of him as “not being Republican enough”. It’s ridiculous and an outrage! That is true, if you look up the ACTUAL definition of Republican or conservative (sc. fiscal conservative) he fits it perfectly as do most current Independents. Republicans now are way off base from which they were founded on.

Peace, noninterventionism, minimal government, low taxes, no secret government rule, no Federal Reserve, individual freedoms and rights etc. etc. etc. I think the Neocons are the the biggest scumbags here. They have changed the GOP to something it was not inteded to be. The state has never grown as much as it has under the presendency of George W Bush, government intervention in education has never been more apparent, and individual freedoms and righs have never been so much in danger as they are now. In the hour of peril, the Neocons have increased the State and decreased individual freedom. That will never be a party-line I will support, and neither would the founding fathers of the USA.

Carl, I completely agree with you. I got an email today from “rebuild the party”. They wanted me to join them to get ready for the 2010 and 12 election. I emailed them back the following:
Rebuild the party, huh? Are you kidding me with your
website? I read it and I noticed that no where in your
little cache of ideas (beside some of the ones posted by
people) does it say how you failed the American people. The
failure of the GOP to live up to it’s ideals is the true
reason the GOP failed to get elected. Republican Americans
were disgusted enough to vote for the other guy despite the
fact that he is clearly a Socialist. I am a lifelong
Republican and my opinion is that the GOP needs to clean
house and bring in some fresh blood. We need true
Republicans and Libertarians who abide by the Constitution
and exercise true fiscal responsibility. The GOP failed us
right alongside the Democrats with this ridiculous bailout
that will only make matters worse in the long run.

    A little background:
I was fortunate this election to be involved in a
non-partisan political project called Purple States, a
production company for the New York Times and then the
Washington Post. We went to the key battle ground states as
“Citizen Journalists” and spoke to the candidates
and ordinary folks. All of our footage was professionally
shot and edited and then put on our website to generate
conversation. I can tell you that the folks who blogged are
on our site and who we talked to on the ground at rallies,
caucuses, town hall meetings, etc., were fed up.
I now write a political opinion column in my local
newspaper and I plan on using my voice to talk about how the
GOP needs a leader who will listen to what Republicans are
saying. People feel that they have no choice, that it is
really a one party system. The GOP looks no different from
the Democrats. THAT’S why you lost the election. My
feeling is that if we continue to get the same GOP that just
got booted out of office, a new, third party will develop to
fill that void. So don’t say you weren’t warned.
If you want Republicans to follow your “Rebuild the
Party” plan, then you need to change your politics, not
    your strategy.

Thank you so much, both for agreeing with me plus bombing my page with comments :). Love it. It’s also nice with inside information ;).
So basically what they are saying is that their current course IS to be desired but the strategy wasn’t good enough? hmm That sounds like a weak analysis by a party which just lost both the white house AND the congress in like 2 years.
I understand that you are fed up.
I just hope that your country will do OK under Obama’s rule and not totally head for Scandinavian Social-Democracy. :S

    Here here Tanya, here here!!

I hope in the future the “two party system” moves to Democrats vs. Libertarians. But I would just prefer we had 3+ parties.

  4. tegis says:

Hm, well, a multi party system has its flaws too.
Just wanted to insert that ūüėÄ
