Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn is dead. As the leader of the Swedish Nobel Academy Horace Engdahl said one of the most magnificent trees in the forest has finally fallen. Solzhenitsyn made himself famous with his harsh criticism against his mother Russia (back then the Soviet Union) and thanks to his work we now know of most atrocities carried out by the unscrupulous communist regime in Russia.

Although his works were banned in the Soviet Union, the novelist Alexander Solzhenitsyn won the Nobel Prize for literature in 1970.
