Here is the 2nd section of the John Galt’s Speech. This part deals with the basic doctrines of altruism – the ideology that means that you are here in this world only to serve others and what these others wish and demand. These basic doctrines are categorized into two main groups – Religion and Political Collectivism. Religion can of course be any religion there is, as we mentioned before the Muslims have their Eid and the Christians have their Christmas. The names may be different but the praise to Sacrifice and the righteousness in giving your good so it become the good of others are central themes in both.
It also explains why these basic doctrines are naturally evil and why it leads to destruction. It is an ongoing thread about the concept of morality that the latter dealt with. A very important question being asked in this section is “what is Sacrifice?“
The essence of previous moral codes (these basic doctrines mentioned above) is to demand that you surrender your mind and your life to the good of a God or the “society”.
But no one came to say that your life belongs to you …
