Is there anything more obnoxious than envy and hatred towards a person’s success? In English it is important to differ between jealousy and envy. But what is the distinction? Well, according to Gerrod Parrott jealousy concerns something one has and is afraid of losing, while envy concerns something one does not have and either he wants to acquire or he wants the other(s) not to have. If Parrott was right (and he was), jealousy is justified because it is merely an emotion derived from the care of things or people you love. Envy, on the other hand, is the hatred of the possessions of others, or more correctly a hatred towards the owners themselves, without any aspirations of trying to earn these objects in a just and fair way. Parrott is stating that envy comes from a social comparison, where we compare ourselves with the other person. But that is wrong. Instead of being obsessed with the happiness of others we should instead be “obsessed” with obtaining our own happiness.
The Jante Law is based on and resulting from a resentment of others’ success. It is a very Nordic thing, however I believe the English have something alike calling it the “tall poppy syndrome”. The Jante Law can be referred to as a homogeneous unit: “Don’t think you’re anyone special and that you’re better than us”.
I say screw that. Head for that dream without caring of what others have and have not. The most important thing in the world is you – no one else. Individuals should not coercively prevent others from exercising freedom of action – they should actively seek to exert their own freedom in order to pursuit their own happiness. Not happiness that is built on others suffering and woe, but on their own self-interest to maximize themselves as human beings.
Jaså du menade att du trodde jag va avundsjuk på henne? Absolut inte! Jag skrev i kommentaren till henne och kan skriva det ännu en gång, pengar är inte allt! Jag tror inte på att pengar skulle göra mig lyckligare utan kärlek är det som gör mig lycklig! Skulle jag inte få leva efter det? Måste jag tycka att pengar är allt? Det är de som tror att pengar gör en lycklig som tror att andra blir avundsjuka på de som har pengar, och jag blir inte avundsjuk på dem! Tjejen som skriver den bloggen ser ner på människor med lite pengar och jag anser det är fel och skulle aldrig få för mig att läsa den bloggen. Är det ett tvång att läsa den? Andledningen till att jag ens kommenterade det enda inlägget jag läste i hennes blogg var för att jag tyckte det var skratt retande att sitta och lura i andra att hon skulle kunna stämma dem som gjort den andra bloggen! Så lär dig en sak! Folk har olika åsikter så sitt inte och skriv till folk att “sluta upp” Med vad de tror på! Jag kommer inte ändra åsikt! Aldrig i livet, och jag kommer ALDRIG tro att jag skulle bli lycklig av pengar, inte en chans!
Lol, det ena behöver väl inte ta ut det andra? Du blir kanske inte lycklig av pengar men brist på pengar är nästan en 100 % garant för att bli olycklig.
Tänk på det du.
Har hon sagt att hon ser ner på folk med lite pengar? Nej. Hon lever bara ett annat liv än dig där hon har mer tillgångar och hon trivs med det och vågar säga det. Sådant retar svensken.
