A new phenomenon is taking over Sweden – the fashion blogs. I don’t know how huge this is abroad but in Sweden it has really exploded on the market. As we all know Fashion is a multi-billion-dollar industry that has considerable impact on the way ordinary people clothe themselves. As fashion is trend-driven and fashion blogs provide a new way to follow these trends, it is likely they will have a considerable long-term influence on the industry. Most of the people writing these fashion blogs are young girls – good-looking and pretty well off. These people get way more visitors and readers than any other political blogs in the world. It’s crazy! Blondinbella.se (in Swedish) has over 300.000 visitors a week (!) and is writing mostly about what she’s doing herself and what she is shopping. From this she earns her living, pays for her education plus being able to shop for around 10.000 Swedish crowns a day.
I will NOT drop the bitter conclusion that everyone sucks and I am jealous of her. I truly admire her and I am happy for her success. But I can’t help myself of being a little bit depressed when thinking about the mental stage of the people in the world today. Here I am writing deep analyzes about tax reductions, freedom of speech, and foreign conflicts and what do I get for that? Around 10 visitors a day if I’m lucky. Even our foreign minister Carl Bildt who is blogging at http://carlbildt.wordpress.com/ (in Swedish) is lucky if he hits more than 50.000 a week. And blondinbella.se gets 300.000. If you google for Nelson Mandela and Paris Hilton you can guess for yourself who will get the most hits. Has the world gone stupid or has it always been like this?

Dude, i run a successful, by SA standards, blog. The traffic spikes when you write a little ’social slander/gossip’ about the Hiltons etc..
In South African Blogging, there are 2 things that pull the masses – Sport, namely Rugby and Porn/Nudity/you get the idea.
Getting traffic is easy.. you just have to lower your standards. However, with that said – i’d rather have 10 IPs that keep coming back and taking part in your blog than 1.2 mill hits with avg times of 30secs on your site, spent looking for hot little blonde teens so that they can wank one off..
You have been blogging for a couple months shy of myself. My advice to you – go and find a host of Political forums, lurk in them, make some nice signitures that point to your blog and you’ll see that like-minded people will join you here

Thank you so much for your advice. I really appreciated it!
Warm greetings from Iceland

Well, what do you expect? You are, after all, a libertarian Swede, something I’d thought to be physically impossible until I stumbled upon your blog last year.
(BTW, You’re making me feel guilty for not reading your blog the last couple of months.)
hehe word up! =)
Well, you should pay a visit more often then!
Plus giving me some good advice how I can improve this page in order to get more visitors. I loose a lot of visitors because I seem to not attract Swedish readers…*hmm* I wonder why?
